The Full Beams Academy DJ Course is an immersive, hands-on program designed for beginners and aspiring DJs looking to develop their skills and confidence behind the decks. Over four weeks, students will learn the fundamentals of DJing, from understanding equipment and music structure to advanced mixing techniques and performance preparation.
Through a mix of interactive lessons, practical exercises, and guided practice, participants will gain proficiency in beatmatching, cueing, EQing, and digital DJing using Serato. The course will also cover music organization, set preparation, and performance techniques to ensure students are equipped to craft seamless DJ sets.
By the end of the program, students will have the technical skills and creative knowledge to record their own mix, prepare for gigs, and confidently perform live.
You will receive access to all of the digital software taught during the course, as well as access to hardware. You will also receive 15% off products at Selecta
* Must be 18+
* Must have a laptop that is 2017 or newer
* All other equipment will be provided to you
* Every class will be at 6pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays

Do I need to bring my own equipment?
You will need:
1. Your own laptop
2. Your own headphones (optional)
All other DJ equipment will be provided during the course.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for beginners who have never DJed before, as well as those looking to improve their skills and understanding of DJing techniques.
When will the course be?
The course will begin in April 2025. You will be notified of the exact day.
The classes will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm - 8pm.
What software will we be using?
The course will primarily focus onSerato DJ & BPM Supreme, covering its key features, functions, and how to use it effectively.
The course will provide you accounts to use for both softwares during the period of the course.
How long is the course?
The course runs for four weeks, with two classes per week, each lasting two hours.
What topics will be covered?
- DJ history and fundamentals
- Equipment and setup
- Music structure, phrasing, and beatmatching
- Mixing techniques and EQing
- Digital DJing and track organization
- Preparing and recording a DJ sets
Will I get hands-on experience?
Yes! The course is highly interactive, with practical exercises in every session to help you build real DJing experience.
Do I need prior music knowledge?
No prior music experience is required. We’ll cover everything from the basics up.
